The more you share your fundraiser page with friends and family, the more likely you are to receive donations. Here are a few simple ways you can boost awareness of your charity fundraiser and encourage friends and family to donate:
Share your fundraiser on social media: You’re created networks of friends on social media, so be sure to share the link to your fundraiser with them, and tell them why it’s important to you. The more personal you can be with your appeal, the more people will respond with their support. To share your fundraiser on social media, simply click on the share buttons on the page for Facebook, Twitter, email and other sharing services.
Create a fundraising goal: If you haven’t already, include a fundraising goal on your charity fundraiser page. This can help drive donations as people will want to help you get closer to your goal. As you near your goal, keep people apprised – you may be surprised to see people donate more than once to help you get there.
Create an end date for your fundraiser: Create a sense of urgency for your donors by giving your fundraiser an end date. This will result in a “X days remaining” message appearing on your fundraiser page with X = the number of days before it ends.
Send an email to friends & family: Email everyone in your address book to tell them about your charity fundraiser, and be sure to include the link to your fundraiser page on JustGive. Be sure to mention a deadline for donations to help drive a sense of urgency.
Tell the charities about your registry: Contact the charities you are featuring on your fundraiser to let them know you are supporting them. Sometimes they send out newsletters or post to social media about special support they receive. The more people that know about your fundraiser, the better!
