When do JustGive Charity Gift Cards expire?

Our gift cards expire 1 year from the date of purchase. So if you purchase a gift card for someone on January 1, 2015, it will expire on January 1, 2016.

Some additional details on gift card expiration from our Terms & Conditions:

  • Gift cards purchased on or after December 12, 2014 are valid for one year from the date of purchase. After that time, they are no longer valid and cannot be redeemed.

  • Gift cards purchased between March 1, 2012 and December 11, 2014 are valid for two years from the date of purchase. After that time, they are no longer valid and cannot be redeemed.

  • Gift cards purchased on or after March 1, 2012 are valid for one year from the date of purchase. After that time, they are no longer valid and cannot be redeemed.

You can check the expiration date of any charity gift cards you have purchased by logging in to your JustGive account, selecting the "Gift Cards" tab, and then clicking the "View, edit or resend gift cards" link. View your gift card history

Note that when you purchase a JustGive Charity Gift Card, you are making a tax-deductible donation to JustGive. As a Donor Advised Fund, we then hold that donation and await your recipient’s redemption, which indicates to which charity(ies) they would like to designate the gift card amount. If they do not redeem their card / designate the card amount within a year, the gift card funds remain as a donation to JustGive.
