Can I redeem Charity Gift Cards that my recipients never used?

Yes, if the Charity Gift Cards you purchased for others have not yet expired, you can redeem them yourself.

All you need are the claim codes from those purchases. To find them, do the following:

  1. Visit justgive.org and log in to your account. If you are already logged in, visit your Donor Account / Giving History
  2. Scroll down to the Giving History section and click on the “Gift Cards” tab. Make sure you have the right year selected in the “View by year” menu. For example, if you want to look at gift card purchases in 2015, make sure 2015 is selected.
  3. Click the “View, edit or resend Gift Cards” link just below the tabs
  4. You will then see a list of claim codes and a “Status” column, which indicates if the code has been redeemed. If the gift card has not yet been redeemed, you can use the claim code yourself to make a donation to a charity.

Note that if you choose to use a claim code that you previously sent to a recipient, that recipient will no longer be able to use it. However they will not be notified if you choose to redeem the code yourself.
